The EIU Nursing Simulation Development Project Team received the Best Poster Presentation Award at the 29th East Asian Forum of Nursing Scholars (EAFONS), held from February 26 to 28, 2026 at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. This marks the second consecutive time the team has earned this prestigious recognition at the international academic forum, reflecting its continued efforts to advance innovation in nursing education.
The EAFONS is one of the most prestigious and largest academic forums in Asia in the field of nursing, bringing together more than 1,800 scholars, researchers, educators, and clinical experts from over 40 countries and territories. In 2026, the conference was held under the theme: “Innovate, Integrate, Inspire: Advancing Nursing Excellence in the Digital Era.”
At the event, Mr Le Hong Liem – lecturer from the School of Nursing at EIU, represented the research team and delivered:
- 01 Oral Presentation titled: “From Care to Code: Introducing the Hybrid Nurse Programmer Concept to Advance Simulation-Based Nursing Education in the AI Era.”
- 01 Poster Presentation titled: “Development of a Nurse-Led Electronic Nursing Record Simulation Platform Using AI-Assisted Coding: By Nurses and For Nurses Innovation under the Hybrid Nurse Programmer Concept.”
The Best Poster Presentation Award recognizes the team’s innovative efforts while affirming the relevance and potential of the Hybrid Nurse Programmer (HNP) model where nurses are not only users of technology but are also empowered to design, program, and take ownership of digital tools that support education and training.
The journey of introducing and refining the HNP concept has gradually evolved from a theoretical idea into practical simulation tools. This achievement demonstrates that in the AI era, nurses are not merely technology users but can also become creators and leaders in technological innovation.
In addition, the project team would like to express its sincere gratitude to:
- Eastern International University (EIU) for providing strong support and a conducive environment for research development and teaching innovation.
- The School of Nursing – Burapha University (BUU), Thailand, for their dedicated academic guidance and support.
- Becamex International Hospital, for generously providing the necessary equipment for simulation activities, which played a crucial role in the implementation and validation of training tools for nursing students.
