GEN Z: The Next Big Shift – From Talent to Consumers

On August 7, Eastern International University (EIU), in collaboration with Singapore Management University (SMU), organized a seminar titled “GEN Z: The Next Big Shift – From Talent to Consumers.” The program attracted a large number of EIU students and was led by Dr. Ng Xu Wen, a lecturer from SMU.

During the seminar, Dr. Ng Xu Wen shared insightful perspectives on entrepreneurial thinking and innovation among the new generation of students, emphasizing the role of education and the university environment in nurturing and developing Gen Z’s potential. In addition, the seminar analyzed the key consumer behavior traits of Gen Z, a generation that is gradually shaping new economic and social development trends in the digital era.

On this occasion, drawing from practical models and success stories of SMU students, Dr. Ng Xu Wen shared many valuable lessons that can be applied in the Vietnamese context—particularly in encouraging entrepreneurship and fostering a global mindset among students.

Through the seminar, EIU students had the opportunity to gain diverse international perspectives and deepen their understanding of their own generation. It also helped them better define their roles, responsibilities, and potential for the future—not only as high-quality human resources but also as smart and responsible consumers.
