EIU Participates in the International Conference on Education – Learning Express (LeX) 2024 at Singapore Polytechnic

Last week, Eastern International University (EIU) participated in the International Conference on Education – Learning Express (LeX) 2024 at Singapore Polytechnic (SP). This year’s conference was held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Singapore Polytechnic as well as to mark 10 years of the Learning Express (LeX) community program between SP and its international partners.

With a vision of creating value for the community, EIU, through its joint participation in the recent LeX 2024 program, enabled EIU and SP students to develop solutions delivering value to diverse user groups. EIU was invited as one of the international representatives to present these solutions and share experiences at the Gallery Walk Exhibition, showcasing the Learning Express program over the past 10 years.

EIU lecturers and staff gained valuable insights into implementing Design Thinking in projects

To bring even more valuable international collaboration programs to the university’s students, EIU lecturers and staff actively engaged in discussions and networking with leaders and representatives from over 20 universities in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other Asian countries, aiming to expand partnerships not only between SP and its partners but also among various international partners within the LeX community.

In addition, during the discussions on the LeX 2025 project using the Design Thinking approach, EIU, together with lecturers and staff from various universities in the region, analyzed and identified ideas to further enhance the Learning Express program, creating more practical value for participating students and the wider community in the future. This process covered everything from preparing the mindset and understanding the context (Sense & Sensibility), identifying and empathizing with user needs (Empathy), to developing ideas (Ideation) and creating suitable prototypes (Prototyping).

By participating in this international conference, the EIU delegation also contributed to further strengthening the university’s brand recognition and opening up more knowledge exchange and collaborative programs, benefiting not only EIU and Singapore Polytechnic students but also the wider community.

The Learning Express (LeX) 2025 program between Singapore Polytechnic and EIU will open for applications in a few months — EIU students, stay tuned!
