On September 26, 2025, Eastern International University (EIU) held the Welcome Ceremony and Festival for the Freshmen of the Class of 2025 in a solemn yet joyful atmosphere.
This special event not only marked the beginning of the students’ learning and training journey at EIU but also served as a festival for nearly 1,500 freshmen to connect, spread their enthusiasm, and embark on a new academic year full of energy. It was also an opportunity for the freshmen to truly experience the core values and educational philosophy that have shaped EIU’s identity throughout its 15 years of establishment and development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Ngo Minh Duc – President of EIU – warmly welcomed the freshmen and conveyed many meaningful messages. He emphasized that entering university, students are not only acquiring knowledge for a specific profession, but also cultivating skills and growing in both mindset and action. University, he noted, is a journey of freedom that comes with responsibility – responsibility for oneself and for one’s own learning path. Dr. Ngo Minh Duc affirmed that EIU will always accompany its students, providing every opportunity for them to study, conduct research, gain experiences, and affirm themselves. He encouraged the freshmen to dare to dream big, to start from small things, and to confidently engage in academic activities, research, international exchanges, and community projects – because “every experience is a seed that will blossom into sweet fruits in the future.”

In the 2024–2025 academic year, the University has achieved many positive results across various activities: EIU students won numerous awards and high achievements in national competitions; confidently participated in and integrated into international forums and projects through the University’s expanded international cooperation with partner universities in Singapore, Japan, Thailand, the United States, and South Korea; and regularly organized business and community engagement activities that created internship, project, and career opportunities for students. Green initiatives and community projects have also contributed to spreading the spirit of EIU.
On this occasion, the University also honored the valedictorians of the Class of 2025. These outstanding students, with their remarkable achievements, were awarded 100% scholarships for a study trip to Singapore. This is a valuable opportunity for them to gain experience and learn from an advanced educational environment. For EIU, scholarships are not only a source of encouragement but also an investment—providing the best conditions for students to develop their competencies and affirm their self-worth.

Chu Gia Han – valedictorian of the Economics program – shared: “After three weeks of enrollment, my fellow freshmen and I have had meaningful experiences through the orientation programs. Most notably, we had the opportunity to visit businesses, witness production processes firsthand, and directly engage in conversations with leaders. Although these valuable experiences are just the beginning, they form a foundation that assures me choosing EIU was the right decision.”

After the ceremonial part, EIU freshmen immersed themselves in a vibrant and youthful atmosphere with a variety of exciting activities, ranging from musical performances to fairs and team-building games. The program not only offered moments of entertainment but also created opportunities for students to get acquainted, build connections, and form new friendships in their first days at university.
The 2025 Freshmen Welcome Ceremony and Festival was not only a bridge to help new students quickly adapt to their new learning environment but also a starting point for a journey of self-discovery, knowledge pursuit, and dream building. Along this journey, EIU is committed to always accompanying and supporting students, helping them grow holistically and contribute to spreading positive values to the community.
