To mark the beginning of their learning and training journey at EIU, this morning (September 10, 2025), the School of Nursing held a welcome program for the new students in an atmosphere that was both formal and warm.

Nursing is a humanitarian field, closely tied to the mission of caring for community health. Therefore, on their first day in the classroom, the new students were introduced not only to the curriculum, which tightly integrates theory and practice, but also to the importance of responsibility, dedication, and compassion – the core qualities of a nursing professional.
The academic program is designed to give students early exposure to real-world settings at reputable hospitals and healthcare facilities, thereby developing solid professional skills. This is a key distinction that enables EIU Nursing students to confidently integrate into professional work environments immediately after graduation. Notably, all EIU Nursing graduates achieve a minimum IELTS score of 6.0, providing them with a significant advantage in accessing specialized knowledge in English, understanding international materials, and communicating effectively in international hospital settings. With strong language skills, students have many opportunities to expand their career paths, from working at international hospitals in Vietnam to entering the global healthcare labor market.
Beyond professional knowledge, this morning also served as an opportunity for lecturers to inspire students and encourage them to participate in research, volunteer work, and community activities – experiences that help cultivate both the “heart and mind” of a nurse.

The Welcome EIU Freshmen 2025 also featured an interaction session with alumni currently working at Becamex International Hospital, My Phuoc Hospital, and Cu Chi General Hospital. They shared a wealth of practical experience in modern healthcare settings, covering skills, professional conduct, and career development opportunities in the health sector. Stories from alumni not only helped new students better envision their career paths after graduation, but also provided motivation for them to study and train diligently, preparing to become highly qualified nurses ready to meet the growing demands of the healthcare system.
We warmly welcome the 2025 cohort to the EIU School of Nursing family. Today marks the beginning of a journey not only to acquire professional knowledge and skills, but also to become trusted companions in the mission of caring for and protecting community health.
