On June 18, the Industrial Innovation Center 4.0 (IIC) of Eastern International University (EIU), in collaboration with VSIP, organized a sharing session themed “Building Smart Factories: The SIRI Framework for Navigating Industry 4.0.”
The event attracted over 40 guests from 20 enterprises, including ECCO Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Idea Technology Corporation JSC; Dynamo Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Bosch Rexroth Vietnam; Medochemie Far East Ltd.; Protrade Garment JSC, and many other companies currently striving to transform through digitalization. Additionally, lecturers from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – Vietnam National University, and Dong Nai University of Technology also participated in the event.

At the session, Dr. Le Ngoc Huan – Director of the Industrial Innovation Center 4.0, lecturer at EIU’s Faculty of Engineering, and a certified SIRI Assessor – introduced a systematic approach to assessing digital readiness using the SIRI (Smart Industry Readiness Index) framework. Through analysis of successful case studies, Dr. Huan illustrated how businesses can chart their digital transformation journeys by evaluating their current state and identifying technology solutions tailored to their capabilities and development goals.

On this occasion, businesses that had undergone the SIRI assessment also shared their challenges in digital transformation, ranging from workforce and technology issues to management mindsets. More than just raising concerns, they also analyzed their Industry 4.0 transformation roadmaps based on the recommendations provided post-assessment.
The program offered practical solutions to help businesses gradually realize the model of smart factories. The adoption of recommendations from the SIRI framework demonstrated potential to enhance productivity, improve product quality, optimize operations, and reduce costs across supply chains. This strategic step supports enterprises in boosting competitiveness in the Industry 4.0 landscape.
