Meaningful Action for a Greener Environment

EIU Green Giving is an initiative by Eastern International University (EIU) that encourages managers, lecturers, staff, students, visitors, and partners to contribute small potted plants, with the aim of spreading awareness and shared responsibility for environmental protection.

EIU Green Giving is not merely a tree-giving program, but also strives to:

  • Create a green learning environment – Transform EIU into a friendly, refreshing campus where each plant represents our collective effort.

  • Raise awareness – Help staff, students, and the community better understand the importance of greenery in our lives and learning environments.

  • Foster community connection – Strengthen bonds among university members and partners as we work together towards a greener future.

How to Participate

Individuals or organizations can contribute one or more small potted plants (please contact the Student Affairs Office to have your contribution acknowledged by the university).
Plants will be placed on Green Giving Tables located throughout the campus. Contributor information will be stored on the EIU Green Giving Site and easily accessed via QR code.
Each plant will carry the contributor’s name and a personal message, symbolizing a shared commitment to a greener and more sustainable environment.

Meaning and Impact

EIU Green Giving is a simple initiative with a powerful impact, helping to build a community that values and takes responsibility for the environment. Each plant not only brings a touch of green but also conveys a message of care, sharing, and collective effort for a better world.
